Party Time With Fireforge Brewing

Had a fun and entertaining time this afternoon, chez Harvin Bedenbaugh, where we drank Fireforge Crafted Beer and huddled around the fire pits. Managed to get one game of bocce in before being rained out (sort of). Winter Warmer, aka Griffen from Fireforge was a much appreciated, spicy bock... the chili helped warm the innards too.
Thanks Harvin and Fireforge for hosting the event.

Brewery 85 Turns Three

Big and I mean big, turnout for Brewery 85's 3rd Birthday bash. The usual good beers and one by Taylor Lamm, previously a brewer at 85 but who now has his own brewery, Oconee Brewing, a jalapeƱo pale that was just too drinkable. Probably all gone by now, but quite the special beer for those, like me, who enjoy the additional pepper flavor without overpowering heat. Perfect balance here. More details and photos later, I gotta sit down for awhile.

Oscar Wong Likes It! Southern Sixer.

Enjoyed talking with Highland Brewery founder, Oscar Wong and noted craft beer journalist, Tony Kiss at Highland Brewing Company's Southern Sixer release party yesterday. I consider this a very special beer with a hop bill of six different varieties, well balanced to deliver the final hoppalicious flavor. At the moment it's a seasonal, hopefully with enough response, Hollie will make it again. Grab some while you can.

Cheers!!

Friday Reading List, Beer Style

Well, being Friday and all, it's a good day for another list (you know you lov'em), this one compiling the 25 Most Important Craft Beers Ever Brewed. Hmm, that's a mouthful... so get an eyeful while reading this. (Pleased to say that I've had more than half of the beers listed).

Busy Beer Blogger's Life

Another mind-bogglingly busy day; first, need to chill, sample and write about the Highland Brewing Company Sixer that showed up yesterday; then relate the details about my visit to RJ Rockers Brewery for their Peachy King release, including a firkin full of PK with habaneros (alas, there is/was only one). Work, work, work. (Thanks to Taylor, Will and Kate for their hospitality.... and Jessica for pouring the beer!)
